Description

These apple brownies with cinnamon and crunchy walnuts are very moist and great to make in the fall when apples are plentiful for a fruity treat.

Ingredients

1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 egg
3 medium apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
2 Beat sugar, melted butter, and egg in a large bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy. Fold in the apples and walnuts. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon together in a separate bowl; stir into apple mixture until just blended. Spread batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
3 Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.
