Mesquite Smoked Jerky
Description
This beef jerky tastes just like the store-bought kind. If you like those kinds, you'll enjoy this very much. You can use hickory-smoked flavoring instead, if desired.
Ingredients
•
1 cup soy sauce
•
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
•
2 tablespoons mesquite flavored liquid smoke concentrate
•
3 cloves garlic, minced
•
1 tablespoon ground paprika
•
1/4 teaspoon salt
•
1 pound beef eye of round sliced into 1/4 inch strips
Directions
1
Mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, liquid smoke, garlic, paprika, and salt in a shallow glass baking dish. Lay beef strips in soy sauce mixture in a single layer. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
2
Arrange beef strips in a dehydrator and let dry to desired doneness, about 6 hours.
