Guacamole Cilantro Lime Cheeseburger

Description

Melted Monterey Jack cheese lends an added zing to these spiced up hamburgers. A dollop of fresh guacamole sends it over the top.

Ingredients

2 avocados - halved, peeled, and pitted
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 cup minced onion
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
1/2 lime, juiced
1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt to taste
2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 lime, juiced
1 teaspoon chili powder
6 slices Monterey Jack cheese
6 hamburger buns, split and toasted

Directions

1 Preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat.
2 Make the guacamole: Mash avocado, tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, lime juice, garlic, and salt together in a medium bowl.
3 Make the burgers: Mix ground beef, onion, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and chili powder together in a large bowl. Form meat into 6 patties.
4 Cook burgers on the preheated grill to desired doneness. Add a slice of cheese to each burger during the last minute of cooking.
5 Serve on toasted buns with a dollop of guacamole.
