Mulberry Bars
Description
This mulberry bars recipe is sweet and tart from the mulberries, joined with finely chopped pecans for added crunch on top a buttery shortbread crust.
Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
•
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
•
1 cup finely chopped pecans
•
1/2 cup brown sugar
•
1/2 cup white sugar
•
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
•
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
•
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
•
1/4 teaspoon salt
•
1 1/2 cups fresh mulberries

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Combine 1 cup flour, butter, and confectioners' sugar until smooth; pat into the bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, combine pecans, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, ¼ cup flour, vanilla, baking powder, and salt in a bowl; fold in mulberries. Spread mulberry-pecan filling over crust.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Cool for 15 to 20 minutes, then cut into 12 bars.
