Description

Ripe bananas, tempura batter mix, and water are all you need to make this quick and easy deep-fried dessert you can serve with ice cream.

Ingredients

3 cups oil for frying
1 1/2 cups ice-cold water
1 (8 ounce) package tempura batter mix
3 medium ripe bananas, cut into 5 pieces
1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar, or to taste

Directions

1 Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2 Pour cold water into a large bowl; sprinkle tempura batter mix on top. Whisk until mix is moistened and large lumps dissolve; batter should still be slightly lumpy.

4 Dust with confectioners' sugar to serve.
