White Pizza Sauce
Description
This delicious white pizza sauce made with milk, Parmesan cheese, and garlic, is a great alternative to a red sauce on pizza, pasta, or even chicken.
Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon olive oil
•
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
•
1 large clove garlic, minced
•
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
•
1 cup milk, or more as needed
•
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
•
2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
•
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano
•
1/4 teaspoon salt
•
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Gather all ingredients.

Heat butter and olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat; stir in onion and garlic. Whisk in flour until lightly browned and onion is tender, about 2 minutes.

Add 1 cup milk, Parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper; cook, whisking continuously, until cheese is melted and sauce has thickened slightly, about 5 minutes.

Add more milk if sauce is too thick. Remove from heat.
