Description

Grandma's lemon chicken recipe yields moist results and is bursting with bright flavor, thanks to just seven ingredients, like lemon-pepper seasoning.

Ingredients

1/2 cup milk
1/3 stick unsalted butter
1 large egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning, or to taste
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
4 lemons, sliced

Directions

1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2 Place ½ cup milk and butter in a baking dish. Set aside.
3 Whisk remaining ¼ cup milk and egg together in a small shallow bowl until well combined. Stir flour and lemon-pepper seasoning together in a separate shallow bowl until evenly blended.
4 Dip chicken in egg mixture, then dredge in flour mixture until completely coated. Place coated chicken in the prepared baking dish. Arrange lemon slices over chicken. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
5 Bake in the preheated oven until chicken is almost cooked through, about 30 minutes. Remove foil; continue baking until chicken is no longer pink in centers and the juices run clear, about 15 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into centers should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
