Description

For this apple crisp with cranberry sauce recipe, use up that leftover homemade cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving or use canned whole cranberry sauce.

Ingredients

4 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 1/2 cups whole berry cranberry sauce
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup rolled oats
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
2/3 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2 Place apple slices in an 8- or 9-inch square baking dish; spread cranberry sauce over top. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon in a bowl until crumbly; sprinkle over apple-cranberry mixture until completely covered.
3 Bake in the preheated oven until apples are easily pierced with a knife and topping is browned, about 45 minutes.
