Description

This bacon-wrapped, brown sugar-coated pineapple and soy-marinated water chestnuts recipe makes a delicious, sweet, and tangy six-ingredient appetizer.

Ingredients

2 (8 ounce) cans whole water chestnuts, drained
1 1/4 cups soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
24 slices thick sliced bacon, cut in half
1 (15 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
toothpicks
1 cup brown sugar

Directions

1 Combine water chestnuts, soy sauce, and garlic powder in a small bowl; toss to coat. Marinate for 30 minutes.
2 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
3 Drain water chestnuts; discard soy sauce mixture. Place 1 pineapple chunk in center of each bacon half; place 1 water chestnut on top. Fold ends of bacon over pineapple chunk and water chestnut; secure with a toothpick. Repeat with remaining pineapple, bacon, and water chestnuts. Gently toss bacon-wrapped pineapple and water chestnuts in brown sugar in a bowl; place on the prepared baking sheet.
4 Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes; flip and continue baking until bacon is cooked to your desired degree of doneness, 15 to 35 minutes more. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain briefly. Serve hot.
